affectUI vs Untitled UI
Untitled UI is a complete design system: one of the most used Figma UI kits plus Untitled UI React, a large library of components and page examples built with Tailwind CSS and React Aria, with licenses from one user to enterprise. affectUI is a focused library for AI products – chat, agent trees, fleets, traces, approvals, inboxes – each component one self-contained file. Untitled UI gives a whole SaaS or marketing site one consistent system; affectUI adds the agent-specific views on top, or covers an AI product on its own.
What each one is
- Untitled UI – a Figma UI kit and design system used by hundreds of thousands of designers, and Untitled UI React: components, sections and page examples – dashboards, tables, charts, pricing and landing pages – built with React 19, Tailwind CSS 4, TypeScript and React Aria, kept in sync with the Figma kit. Free open-source React components and a free Figma kit, paid one-time licenses up to enterprise with SSO, a CLI and starter kits
- affectUI – components, screens and blocks for AI and agent products, each a single .tsx file with its own CSS and motion, taking plain props
Where they differ
- Scope: Untitled UI covers every general screen of a SaaS product and its marketing site; affectUI covers what AI products need on top – streaming answers, tool calls, sub-agents, traces, approvals, scheduled runs, costs
- Design: Untitled UI's strength is design and code in parity, from a Figma kit to React; affectUI is code you drop in, in two styles (classic and clean)
- Setup: Untitled UI React builds on Tailwind CSS and React Aria; affectUI components carry their own CSS and need only React 19
- Price: both are paid once; Untitled UI has free React components and a free Figma kit, affectUI 40 free MIT items
Where Untitled UI fits better
- You want one design system for the whole product and the marketing site, in Figma and in code
- A larger team or company needs seat licenses, SSO or an enterprise agreement
- You need many general page examples – dashboards, settings, pricing, landing pages
Where affectUI fits better
- Your product is built around AI or agents and needs views a general system doesn't have – agent trees, fleets, traces, approvals, inboxes
- You don't use Tailwind, or want components that bring their own styles
- Both together: Untitled UI for the general screens, affectUI for the AI parts – affectUI's styles stay inside its own components
- Agent Tree – Who started whom – an orchestrator and its sub-agents as a live tree, with status, cost and time on every card, costs rolling up each branch, and branches that fold to one line
- Decision Inbox – Open decisions with two quick answers each – answered ones confirm and fold away
- Chat Composer – Prompt composer with model picker, voice input, app connections and approval request
Questions
Is affectUI an alternative to Untitled UI?
Not as a whole design system – Untitled UI covers far more general screens and has a Figma kit. For the AI and agent parts of a product, affectUI goes further, and it works next to Untitled UI.
Does affectUI need Tailwind CSS?
No. Each affectUI component carries its own CSS with color variables, so it works in Tailwind projects and without them.
Can AI coding tools add affectUI components?
Yes. affectUI has an MCP server and llms.txt, so Claude, Cursor or v0 can search the library and add components.
